Rebecca Roman Montez, MS, LPC, BCN
Owner, Therapist, Trainer
Neurofeedback & EMDR
People often come to therapy feeling unsure how to describe what they’re experiencing — only that things feel heavier, harder, or more confusing than they used to.
My role as a therapist is to help you slow things down, make sense of patterns that may be rooted in anxiety, neurodivergence, or past experiences, and work toward change in a way that respects your pace and autonomy.
My Clinical Focus
I work with teens and adults across a range of concerns, with particular focus on:
Anxiety and chronic stress
ADHD, autism, and AuDHD across adolescence and adulthood
Trauma, PTSD, complex or developmental trauma, and nervous system dysregulation
Emotional overwhelm, shutdown, or burnout
Difficult life transitions and identity questions
Many of the people I work with are insightful and self-aware, yet still feel stuck or misunderstood — sometimes by others, sometimes by themselves. Clients often describe feeling “too much,” “not enough,” or simply exhausted from trying to manage without adequate support.
How I Work
My approach is collaborative, neuroaffirming, and trauma-informed. Therapy is not about fixing or correcting you, but about understanding how your experiences have shaped the way you think, feel, and respond.
I integrate:
EMDR to help process traumatic or overwhelming experiences
Neurofeedback to support regulation and brain-based healing
Adapted cognitive, somatic, and relational approaches to build insight and practical tools
We move at a pace that feels safe, with attention to both emotional experience and the nervous system.
What Therapy is Like
Sessions are structured yet flexible. I aim to create a space where clients do not need to mask, perform, or justify their experiences. Therapy is guided by curiosity, clinical skill, and respect for autonomy.
Whether you are seeking anxiety therapy, autism-affirming support, AuDHD-informed care, or trauma treatment, the work centers on building understanding and sustainable change.
If you’re considering therapy and wondering whether this might be the right space for you, I welcome you to reach out. I’m happy to answer questions and help you decide what the next step might look like.
